About Me

My name is Amanda.

It was about 5 or so years go I got hit by the travel bug.  I haven't been many places, and all of a sudden, thanks to the internet, I was open to  a whole new world that I became desperate to see.  However, it has just not been possible for us to hit the road longterm.  While we are fitting in closer to home trips, and sometimes bigger ones across Canada or the US, the big overseas adventure is still on the "wait list."  So, if you are like me, follow along as I blog while we are waiting and saving for that big trip that we hope to take our whole family on in 5 or so years.

My husband, formerly known as Mr. Piano Man, we'll call him "Carpenter Extraordinaire".  He has just spent the last year changing careers from a piano teacher to an apprentice for carpentry.  He still shares his amazing talent with the rest of us by playing at church, and of course, at home.  He is always up for an adventure on the road, sushi dates, coffee, and trail walks.  I think i'll keep him. ;)

My first born.  This girl compliments me so much throughout the day.  She's my biggest cheerleader.  She loves Jesus, Frozen, socializing, and sparkly things.  She just LOVES people.  I'm pretty sure she is going to be that teenager that is never home due to a full social life, so I am soaking up the moments I have with her now.

My middle child, "Firecracker".  He is my sensitive child.  He wears his heart on his sleeve.  He loves easily and he hurts easily .  He loves all things Star Wars and once begged me to change his name to Anakin.  He spends a good portion of the day making sounds that resemble a light sabre. I love to see this boy light up when he succeeds at new challenges!

My baby.  This kid is a riot.  I'm not going to lie, he totally lives up to the third born stereotype that they get away with everything, because he flashes me this grin that leaves me undone, and then I find myself laughing even though he just stuck his peanut butter toast in his hair.  He loves to cuddle every moment he finds me sitting down.

And then there's me.  One minute you will find me with dreadlocks in my hair and wearing tie dye from head to toe, and the next you might find me in a little black dress, makeup, and "normal" hair.  Or maybe a plaid flannel shirt and a John Deere baseball cap.  I like to keep people on their toes. ;)  I am the one you will find in the movie theatre laughing when no one else is.  I am also the one who might cry if you look at me the wrong way. I talk way more than I should, and I often regret it later. I get way too excited about going to the bathroom by myself, or to the grocery store alone.
